Kareen Davisson

I have enjoyed team sports throughout my entire life and once I graduated from college I felt like I was missing something. I finally found the CrossFit community and realized immediately I was missing the camaraderie and motivation of a team. CrossFit is more than just a means to getting fit. It is a community of like-minded people who come together daily to work hard and become better people. Our members have become an extension of our own family and I feel honored to have the opportunity to coach them and get to know them on a daily basis. We are here to help you become a better version of you and you can start now, right where you are!

Sports have always been a part of my life. I started playing football at 5 years old and I didn’t stop. I played all the way through high school and at the collegiate level. With football, came a love for weightlifting. Lifting heavy stuff is my thing. I just love it. For a couple years, I took on boxing, too. Seven years ago, some friends invited me to go to CrossFit with them. My first workout was called 3 tons. It consisted of lifting stones over and over again to equal a total of 3 tons. The workout practically left me crippled the next day….and I’ve been hooked ever since.  And yes, I came back to do my second WOD the very next day.

Running and team sports have always been an important part of my life. In 2011, I ran my first marathon while pregnant with my first child. After which my doctor advised me to stop running (which I now strongly disagree with). Through my pregnancy and moving to WV, I gained considerable weight.
The first time I tried crossfit after having my son, the workout was Annie (50-40-30-20-10 of jump rope and sit-ups). I didn’t think I could do more than 2 sit-ups. Not to mention, I had not jumped rope since I was a kid. The coach encouraged me and I finished! I was shocked but also proud of myself. I have been crossfitting ever since.

The comradery and support crossfit has provided me has been a great influence on my life both physically and emotionally. The friends that I have made here have made getting back in shape enjoyable. I believe that everyone is capable of great things and crossfit helps brings that out. Whether it’s to lose weight, make everyday activities easier, or get ready for a competition. This community of crossfit not only supports physical aspirations but influences one to eat better and live healthier.
